Our services for EU Settlement Scheme applications (settled and pre-settled status) are relevant if you missed the initial deadline of June 30th, 2021.
The EU Settlement Scheme (settled and pre-settled status) was first launched in 2019 as a result of the UK’s decision to leave the European Union. At the time of its launch, around 3.5 million EU residents in the UK would no longer have had a right to stay in the UK. This scheme was therefore launched to regulate the stays of anyone from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and aligns with the UK points-system applications also.
If a successful application is made, the applicant will be granted a settled or pre-settle status which allows them to live, work and study in the UK for an indefinite period. Other benefits also include having free access to NHS treatment, gaining access to government public funds such as support and pensions, and also moving freely in and out of the UK.
The government had previously stressed the urgency of applying for the scheme on time as this needed to be done in line with the UK’s leaving the European Union. Late additions could, therefore, not be processed as timely or easily, although some reasonable grounds are still being accepted. If you did not make the originally confirmed application date, for whatever reason, it is highly important that you process your application as soon as possible. This should also be done using complete compliance with the promoted requirements, as any issues could result in your application being unsuccessful.
